TUIHANA RANGAHAU/AUT RESEARCH INSTITUTE

Sharing research at the Australasian Industrial Relations Conference

Last month three of our ASTRI founding members, Katherine Ravenswood, Tanya Ewertowska and Angsana A. Techatassanasoontorn, shared some of their current research at the Association of Industrial Relations Academics Australia and New Zealand.

Their stream brought together critical research from Industrial Relations and Information Systems, getting to the heart of how we do things in our institute: interdisciplinary; meaningful for participants; practical outcomes for industry/community partners; and exploring new frontiers for theory.

  • Katherine Ravenswood got deep into theory, reconceptualising workplace violence in relation to society and regulation.
  • Tanya Ewertowska shared the why and how of using creative qualitative research methods, providing insight from her doctoral research with young workers.
  • Angsana A. Techatassanasoontorn (information systems scholar) presented new findings on how software

Developers routinely use AI in their daily work to assist with repetitive tasks, problem solving, idea and solution generation and complex or unfamiliar tasks.

While AIRAANZ is based in industrial relations, the conference explores the wider world of work and society, and has a strong tradition of research that informs practice and policy. The perfect place for our researchers to share their latest insights!
